Windows 98 Boot (Start-up)

Booting Windows 98 on my desktop (based on vista). I used Microsoft Virtual PC for WIN 98. Listen also to the Windows 98 theme, right after the start up sound. Its way cool. Have fun..hehe

    98 was my very first OS. I got a computer when I was 2 (so it had to be a 98…cuz thats the year i turned 2). soo many memories. I miss all my little kiddie games that don’t work on my XP. I tried to play the diva starz game just for old times sake and there was no sound!!!

    i remember that music from when i first booted my Dell pc about 4 years ago. it was all i had at the time. I had no internet and I felt trapped and seperated from the rest of the world with it.

    however, i had descent 2 and Midtown Madness 2, so I had some good times also

    a lot of computers now won’t run windows 98 or ME u have to have XP or vista because of the hardware ..no drivers for the hardware and cpu’s aren’t supported

    I had Win98SE on my first PC when I was 7 and used it for 3 or 4 years. It’s still to this day my favorite and best OS. So many memories with it.
    If it supported SATA hard drives and if my graphics card had drivers for it (damn you 4870X2), I’d probably put it on dual boot.
    If you use it on a VM you can’t play any games though, due to no 3D acceleration support.
    XP was and still is a very good OS to have. As for the new OS’s, well, I don’t see a too bright future.

    oh my God ;) a little tear runs down my cheek…the bell was terrible, but the start up music was really cool. This and W95 installations was my first employee… :) 1998, long time ago ;) Ty, nice vid!

    I love that theme song, reminds me of my elementary school days, all those times that I would start weekend or summer mornings by playing computer games instead of doing something active.

    Agreed, unknown2594… and I am making my own little Windows 98….. mostly the backgrounds from it… along with a bit from the XP and power of the 7… I keep all the sounds from 98 of course! And an old SOUND BLASTER LIVE card, making a thinder noise at startup…. hahahaha!

    I can’t believe so many people still love the old Windows systems!
