i have an hp pc with vista, but when i click on system recovery i get a msvcrt.dll error….i need help
y do we need to make a recovery disk if we can do a system recovery?thanks alot.

Are you trying to open the application from the Start menu, or are you already there and trying to launch a recovery?
at 4:30, they should have said to press F11 until you see the black screen saying windows is loading files. keeping pressing after is silly, cause its actually loading the recovery for you, you just have to wait

its a fail safe. just in case your recovery partition fails, since it’s on the same hard drive, this is plan b.

hey, i have an hp, and i reformatted it to windows xp, but i had windows vista before, can i still do a system recovery?……….because when i turn my computer on, i press f11, and it will say system recovery, and i can hold it for like 30 minutes and it wont do anything….any help?

what happens if i delete the partition saying recovery?
Then it’s gone, you have to order a recovery disk set.
but will that add memory to my C drive, or do I have to delete the content inside the partition that says recovery and then in coomputer management and extend it to my c?
When you delete the recovery partition, then you can extend your C partition to the max, by using Disk Management, or a third party partitioning software. But I wouldn’t recommend it without making a recovery disk. So in the future your computer wouldn’t boot, or start. Just pop in the disk, with a 15-1 hour then you’re back on business.

HELP! after i pressed f11 on my compaq v3000 laptop the pc restore wizard wont show up, its just a blank light blue screen.
i tried it from the recovery disk and from the hard drive, still wont show up.
how can i fix this? regedit?
i can still get to the desktop but its really slow due to a lot of programs so i want to restore it.
i can still access regedit, how do i fix it to show the restore wizard?

Thanks its really work with computer that come with the recovery but what happening if you computer don’t have recovery including is don’t work so you need to get recovery cd en boot from cd room or dvd room and it will bee work afterd that you will need to get the drivers because there is no cd recovery come with the drivers so you have to download from another pc end then install to your pc es going to take time to do that
does this work with all hp computers? because i have an hp pavilion zv5000 notebook and i cant figure out how to do system recovery D:
