Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford Commencement Address
Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life’s setbacks — including death itself — at the university’s 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005. He still looks good there… Terrible what aids does to a man.
bizzy400…you are a moron…but I’m sure your friend(s) pointed that out to you already
This is one of the best speeches I have heard with such great conviction and confidence right up there with the last lecture…nothing but the truth in there. This goes beyond Apple, NeXT, Pixar and Steve Job’s other ventures…this should be the introduction of Mr Steve Jobs anytime/anyplace. A lesson of how love can move mountains….believe not to settle till your dreams come true, love or at least be passionate abt what you do and …stay hungry, stay foolish!
One of the best speeches ever
Awesome! This was indeed an inspiring speech!…& I’m thinking about enrolling in stanford university rather soon.
mickusher, you rock man. Hahahahah, nice comment.
and What a speech steve jobs!! You lived a real life. Each and every word of your speech is gem. It is spoken with sincerity, honesty and beauty. It is marvelous, stupendous, exquisitely beautiful piece of speech sans rhetoric
greatest Arab-American so far. Thumbs up hahahahah
@songoku82 thank you for putting some dose of realism here.
it’s true of what you said, as I am also from a developing country..
but nevertheless, my motto now has changed from “going FREE” into a “CREATE things”. if you notice, it IS essentially the same thing, but the latter is actually suited so well for us people in 3rd world developing country,..because it basically means instead of whining & complaining, then go BE & CREATE the Change we’ve always been wanting. it’s not impossible!
@songoku82 if I may ask, so what’s your friends doing now?
are they now *forced* to work in a job they hate?
or, they still won’t ever give up?
the good thing is the Internet.
there are just soo many new opportunities we can go CREATE with such ‘global-presence’ technology, that in a way it would create NEW ways/opportunities, instead of “waiting” for ‘em to come to us!
hence, my motto again: just try BE and CREATE the Change we want to see, do Good, as BEST as we can while still breathing!
Best Speech Ever!
geez… what a douchebag!
Alright everyone! Let’s all drop out of college collectively and change this world!
It seemed the best lines in that speech were quotes…
Great speech!

Check out the JK Rowling Harvard speech where she talks about working at Amnesty International.
